In the context of Tech4Dev's Product Management Boot Camp, my team embarked on a mission to enhance Eden Life, Africa's pioneering home services app. Our goal was to develop a new feature called "Referrals," aimed at addressing a key challenge within the home services industry - trust and reliability.
In many regions, finding trustworthy service providers for tasks like food delivery, laundry, and cleaning can be a daunting process. The "Referrals" feature aimed to solve this problem by creating a referral network within the Eden app. Users could refer service providers they had a positive experience with, helping others in the community discover reliable options.
Our project included a comprehensive strategy for the development of this feature, defining metrics to measure success, selecting a software development life cycle (SDLC) model for implementation, and establishing a product roadmap.
Problem Solved: With "Referrals" integrated into Eden Life, we aimed to create a solution that built trust within the user community. By enabling users to share and discover trusted service providers, we not only made the app more user-centric but also addressed a critical issue in the home services industry - helping users find reliable and high-quality services with ease. This project underscored our commitment to improving user experiences and bringing real value to the Eden Life community, enhancing its reputation as a trustworthy and user-friendly platform.
